In 2018, I gave birth to my first child. Like most new, young moms, I realized I was giving so much of myself to my child, and needed something that was my own. I tried knitting, crochet, embroidery, and nothing. I stumbled across a video on Youtube about hand quilting, and thought, “Why not?”
In 2019, I began watching episodes of The Midnight Quilt Show with Angela Walters. I made a list of everything I would need, and set to acquiring the necessary tools and notions and fabric to make a baby quilt. I borrowed my mom’s sewing machine, and pieced and finished my quilt within a week…and I was hooked. Thank goodness, because next on my list of hobbies to try was smoking meats.

I began looking for quilt patterns to try next. After making a few, I thought, “Why not make my own designs?” So, I did. One year later, I had written my first pattern, Duo. Several patterns followed, as well as two more babies.
These days, I am much busier with three kids, and can’t crank out as many patterns as I used to, but I am always thinking of new quilts to make and will share what I can here!
